2015 AAU TOP 100 SUMMER SHOWCASE IN YOUR REGION

The AAU and Topline Sports (TLS) are pairing up to bring YOU the 2015 AAU Top 100 Summer Showcase in your region! TLS will hold eight different camps across the nation that will focus on teaching advanced skill concepts, education on the recruiting process, and exposure.

AAU is working with the event coordinator for these camps to make sure it is a great experience for all involved. Participating in a summer camp is a great way to develop and enhance your basketball skills.

The AAU Grand Nationals Wrestling Tournament is the longest running Wrestling Tournament in the Nation!

The 2015 Eastern Grand Nationals will be held Greensboro, NC June 18th – 20th, 2015 at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

UPDATED: AAU MEMBERS SELECTED IN NFL DRAFT

UPDATE: Now that the 2015 NFL Draft is over, the AAU is proud to announce that 79 players were AAU alumni! For a full list of drafted AAU members, see the list linked below. The following story was posted Friday, May 1st after the first round of the NFL Draft.

Last night, the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft was in Chicago, Illinois at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Thirty-two of the top NCAA Football athletes were chosen to join the professional league. Fifteen of those 32 athletes were former AAU members before they became college stars. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota (an AAU Sullivan Award semi-finalist) were picked 1 and 2 in the draft, the first time in NFL Draft history that two Heisman winners have gone 1-2.

The third pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars was the first AAU member to be selected. Florida's Dante Fowler Jr. will join the Jags next year as a linebacker. Immediately following Fowler, Alabama's Amari Cooper, another AAU alum, was selected by the Oakland Raiders as the fourth pick. Vic Beasley and Ereck Flowers, were picked 8 and 9 by the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants, respectively, to round out the top ten in the NFL Draft.

Picks 13 through 17 were all AAU alumni and the rest were scattered among the picks. Two of the former AAU members, Ereck Flowers and Phillip Dorsett were teammates at the University of Miami and were both drafted in the first round.

The second and third rounds of the 2015 NFL Draft continues tonight on ESPN and the fourth round will be selected on Saturday, May 2nd.

RENO-SPARKS CONVENTION CENTER TO HOST AAU EVENTS THROUGH 2020

Lake Buena Vista, May 7, 2015 – Jam On It, a member club of the AAU, and the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) announced an agreement to host AAU events at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center through 2020.

Founded in 1991, Jam On It is an event organization, whose mission statement is to engage children in fun, competitive play and to have them compete in a well-organized athletic program. The AAU is one of the largest, multi-sport, amateur sport event organizations in the United States and began in 1888.

For the past 14 years, Reno has hosted the Jam On It Reno Memorial Day AAU Tournament, the world's largest basketball tournament. Over 1,100 teams compete on 85 courts in the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in the premier 'All Under One Roof' event of its kind. This is an event model Jam On It has perfected in recent years.

"We have been extremely successful running events in the Reno area," said Matt Williams, Jam On It Owner and AAU Second Vice-President. "Locking in a long term deal with Reno-Sparks just makes sense and allows both Jam On It and the RSCVA to continue to hold quality events in the area."

The Jam On It Reno Memorial Day AAU Tournament at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center is the foundation of AAU events in Nevada and has paved the way for other AAU events in the area. The state also hosts the AAU West Coast Basketball National Championship, AAU West Coast Volleyball Championships, AAU Gymnastics Age Group National Championship, AAU Taekwondo State Championship and AAU Baton Twirling State Championship to name a few.

"The Jam On It Memorial Day Tournament is a cornerstone of our sports community here in Reno Tahoe," said Christopher Baum, RSCVA President and CEO. "With over 1,100 teams competing in the RSCC, REC, RSLEC and local high school gyms over the three-day weekend, Matt has grown his event into a juggernaut in the sports travel industry. It brings incredible impact to our region each spring and we value the event immensely."

Last year's Reno Memorial Day AAU Tournament had an economic impact of over $8 million. The economic impact for all Jam On It AAU events in Nevada is estimated at approximately $11 million.
