MaxPreps Names Xcellent 25 Teams The MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Volleyball Rankings were released yesterday, and the AAU is pleased to say that 75% of the athletes on these 25 teams play or have played AAU as youth athletes. The top ranked team, Cathedral (Indianapolis, IN), has 13 of its 14 players with an AAU background. Teams that include all AAU alum include Gabriel Richard (#4; Ann Arbor, MI), Morgan (#10; UT), Benet Academy (#12; Lisle, IL) Great Oak (#14; Temecula, CA), Desert Vista (#15; Phoenix, AR), Mattawan (#17; MI) and Novi (#18; MI).

The top 25 teams hail from 16 different states, with the majority from Michigan and Texas. Indiana, Kansas, Florida, California and Illinois each contributed two teams to the list. Of the three teams from Michigan, most of the athletes participated with Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy, Legacy Volleyball Club, and Dead Frog Far Out. From Texas, nine of the girls compete with Austin Performance Volleyball during the AAU season.

Five of the top 25 teams are undefeated, including No.1 Cathedral, No. 2 Jesuit, No. 4 Gabriel Richard, No. 10 Morgan and No. 20 Buford. No. 13 Edmond North has completed their season after winning the 6A state title. Jesuit continues to dominate and carries a 64-match winning streak (over two seasons). PowerZone Fall 2015 College Showcase

PowerZone Volleyball Center in Denville, NJ, will host a recruiting showcase for unsigned high school athletes in the graduating classes of 2018, 2017, 2016 and Jr. College athletes seeking to play women's volleyball at the college level. The PowerZone Fall 2015 College Volleyball Showcase will be held on Saturday December 5th, 2:30 pm-5:30 pm. The Showcase is presented by PowerZone, Smack Sportswear, Rich Kern, Sleeve-it, Live Arena and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).

The PowerZone Fall 2015 College Showcase creates an opportunity for volleyball players to demonstrate their skills and college coaches to evaluate recruits. PowerZone Volleyball has designed an event with plenty of room and time for college coaches to quickly evaluate athletes effectively and efficiently. The affordable entry fee of $25 is made possible by their sponsors.

LiveArena will stream the showcase over the Internet allowing coaches nationwide to have access. The Showcase provides each athlete equal exposure to demonstrate skills to college coaches in an effective and affordable event. If you are a Freshman currently playing Varsity in a Hitting or Setting role or a sophomore, you are welcome to register for the Showcase on or after November 5th.
