I am convinced that giving maximum effort every day is a skill. It’s a skill that be learned, practiced and mastered. I can assure you that no matter where you are in your career, this single skill; giving maximum effort every day, will improve your chances of success in your respective sport and more importantly in life.

Do you know where many college coaches sit when they come to recruit a player? Behind your team? On your sideline? They sit across from your team and your sideline. Why? Because a coach wants to see how you react when something doesn’t go right. How you handle being taken out of a game? How you stay prepared when you’re not playing? Will you be a player a coach wants to recruit!?!

These days it’s important as ever to boost immunity, your body’s ability to fight infections. Research shows a well-balanced diet is key to support a healthy immune system. Try to eat 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day focusing on vitamin A foods (carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, romaine lettuce, melon) and vitamin C (citrus fruits, berries, Kiwi, bell peppers, tomatoes, leafy greens). Eat high quality protein including chicken, seafood, beef, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, beans and lentils. Choose healthy fats such as olive oil, avocados, nuts and fatty fish.
